Pixar's 22 Rules of Storytelling
Absolutely fascinating. The implications of applying this to the storytelling/ communicating we do in church are exciting and challenging.

I feel like I’m being unfaithful. Like I’m cheating. But the truth is that for the first time I am seriously considering switching to the Android OS. Here’s why:
Being locked in means you are, that’s right, locked in. Chained to Apple and IOS. For better or for worse. In sickness and in health. For richer, for poorer (and in the case of Apple devices, definitely for poorer…)
This has it’s benefits, for sure, but if I’m honest, as much as I love my iPhone I find the OS pretty uncompelling. It looks pretty much like the Palm OS, which died several years ago. Faced with OS aesthetic competition from the likes of Samsung and HTC Android skins, The dynamic tiles of Microsoft’s new UI and even Blackberry 10 the truth is that IOS looks and feels dated.
Apple is by no means sick, but at the moment I don’t find the new iPhones particularly compelling either. The iPhone 5 really didn’t inspire my imagination at all. And the thing is that there are some fantastic Android devices out there, and by moving to an open OS I can switch devices while not losing all my apps and music etc. Add Spotify and Netflix to the mix and it gets even more interesting.
Finally, while Android devices aren’t necessarily cheap, they are cheaper than a new iPhone, and you can move devices within the Android ecosystem.
Thoughts on a postcard…
